Privacy policy

We keep this short because we collect very little.

Surf reports: when you send a report we store the spot, your answers and the time. To stop spam we also keep a one-way hash of your IP address that changes every day; we never store the address itself. Reports are deleted after 30 days.

Settings such as units are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

Advertising: this site shows ads from Google AdSense. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland you'll be asked for consent first, and Google may use cookies to show personalised ads only if you agree. When Google ads aren't showing, some pages show banner ads from Adsterra. Each banner runs in a locked frame that can't open pop-ups, redirect the page, or read cookies or anything else on this site. On devices set to a European time zone they only load if you allow them in the banner that asks first. Contact form: when you write to us we store your name, email address and message so we can reply, and forward them to our mailbox (Google Gmail). Messages are deleted after 180 days. The form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that tells people from bots without advertising cookies.

Visitor statistics: we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not follow you across other sites.

Partner links to surf schools and accommodation may earn us a commission. It doesn't change the price you pay.

Hosting: the site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect it.
