Imsouane Surf Guide is an independent, ad-supported site for surfers visiting the coast between Imsouane and Agadir. Everything runs on our own small server: no tracking pixels from forecast providers, no paywall.

How the forecast works: four times a day we download the latest NOAA WAVEWATCH III wave model (all swell trains separately) and GFS wind for a small box of ocean off the coast. For each spot we then calculate how high each swell train breaks there (using its height, period and direction against the spot's swell window), judge the wind against the spot's offshore direction, and add our own tide prediction. That gives the surf height, the star rating and the best window for each day.

The model is tuned with local knowledge, and the live reports from surfers on the beach help us keep it honest. Spot something that's consistently off? Send a report from the spot page; it all helps.
